For the Minecraft HBCU Esports Hackathon, students from across 20 HBCUs are competing to build their school’s “Yard” as the arena within Minecraft: Education Edition. D.C. Public School students will play on the final arenas as part of the program.

The HBCU (Historical Black Colleges and Universities) Esports League is back for its second season and this year they have partnered with Cxmmunity, Verizon, Twitch, and Discover. The 22-week schedule to be aired on Twitch.tv/cxmmunity will begin on Aug. 18, 2021 at 7:00 PM EST, and conclude on April 6, 2022.
